Neighborhood Hub Day Recap

This past Saturday, food-growers across the City came together at their neighborhood Hubs to pick up compost and seeds, learn the essentials to planning and starting their own food gardens and meet other food growers in their neighborhood. Despite the brisk weather, the turnout was great. We were thrilled to both see familiar faces and meet new, excited food growers in the different neighborhoods. The neighborhoods Hubs are the centers for food-growing resources, education and community, and Neighborhood Hub Day showed community members that they can turn to these Hubs for all their food-growing needs.

Many thanks to the entire crew who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of Neighborhood Hub Day–the Hub Leaders, our many volunteers, our workshop instructors, the Providence Community Growers Network Council and all the seed companies (Johnny’s, Seed Savers Exchange, High Mowing and URI) that ┬ádonated their high-quality seeds.

Check out the slideshow below to see what Hub Day was like at each of the Hubs in the Southside, West End, Olneyville and Eastside neighborhoods!
