NOFA/RI Advanced Growers Workshop Rescheduled

Now that Nemo is behind us, let’s get back on track and prepare for Spring. The NOFA/RI Advanced Growers Workshop on Fertility Management in the Bio-Extensive Market Garden has been rescheduled to February 17, 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the University of Rhode Island, East Farm, Bldg. 75 (click here for a map).

David Fisher of Natural Roots Farm will discuss the soil building and cropping cycle over a two-year period and share his five-part fertility program, which includes (1) cover cropping, (2) compost application, (3) soil testing and a customized mineral-based fertilizer blend, (4) pre-plant fertilization and (5) foliar crop feeding. David will also teach weed management techniques and how to use draft horses in the field.
