A Meal to Remember

This past March, at our Urban Agriculture Kick-Off, SCLT held a silent auction with some amazing items to support the Providence Community Growers Network. One of the items was “A Meal to Remember”–a dinner party for six at City Farm. Last night we hosted George Harvey, winner of “A Meal to Remember” and Director of Groundwork Providence, and several of his friends at City Farm for a meal that was definitely one to remember.

Chef Casey Shea and Cindy Shea, SCLT’s Community Growers Coordinator, served a four-course meal, sourcing fruits and vegetables from City Farm and cheese from Narrangansett Creamery (check out the full menu below!). The guests enjoyed their delicious meal under the recently installed arbor at a table set beautifully with a flower bouquet and candles. It was the perfect autumn evening to enjoy an outdoor dinner with close friends.

Last night’s menu included:

  • Amuse bouche: chilled zucchini veloute with crispy shallots
  • Salad: fall vegetable salad with garden greens, husky cherry vinaigrette and herbed Narragansett Creamery ricotta
  • Entree: vegetable paella with City Farm eggplants, kale and cherry tomatoes
  • Dessert: fried squash blossoms with City Farm raspberry coulis
