City Farm Update – seedlings, asparagus, and shade!

For a 3/4-acre farm, there sure is PLENTY growing on at City Farm. In addition to the spades and spades of prep work involved around the Plant Sale (Rich starts seeding the 18,000+ plants as early as February!), City Farm is undergoing renovations helping adapt to the fall of a great tree last summer, as well as the demand for increased urban food production and sustainability! The renovations are well underway. Thanks to the generosity of City Farm friends who supported our Kickstarter Project, we’ve already built a new shade arbor, planted asparagus, and will soon move to building more raised garden beds, installing rain barrels, and planting more fruit trees.

Southside Community Land Trust’s 20th Annual Plant Sale is May 19th & 20th, 10am-2pm both days at City Farm (corner of W. Clifford and Dudley) and accepts cash, credit, debit, and EBT.
