Our Community Gardens Network Coordinator, Erika Rumbley, has accepted a new position as Garden Educator with the Boston Natural Areas Network, an affiliate of The Trustees of Reservations. BNAN owns and manages community gardens, urban wilds, and greenways in Boston, providing community organizing and stewardship education and serving as a sort of alternative parks system for the city. In her new role, Erika will be teaching a course for Master Urban Gardeners as well as a series of food-growing workshops at City Natives, an urban farm where BNAN grows both food and native landscape plants. Erika has done a wonderful job building relationships between community gardens and expanding our network here in Providence, and we know that she will be very successful in Boston as well. We are sorry to see her go, but glad to have another connection to the good work being done in our neighbor city. Please join us in wishing her all the best with this next phase of her career!
