School Day

Last week, SCLT superstar and Urban Edge Farmer Christina Dedora visited Thornton Elementary through Kids First, to teach third graders about making life grow.

Giddy with excitement, the sea of kids were awed by in-house demonstrations, which included a walkthrough of common garden herbs, how to create newspaper pots*, and Christina’s lesson on planting Fedco whirlybird nasturtiums.

*good for the environment AND one’s personal economy, though the kids will learn that last part soon enough…
